Voor de vierde keer maakte ik mijn nieuwjaarswandeling door de tuin om te ontdekken wat er zoal bloeit.
In 2008 vond ik er een tiental, in 2009 was er rond kerstmis een flinke winterprik, en kon ik met wat goede wil een lijstje van drie planten maken.
En dit jaar is mijn lijstje net zo lang als vorig jaar, al ziet het er anders uit. Dit jaar is alleen Viburnum bodnantense ‘Dawn’ op post…
En toch… nu de sneeuw steeds sneller dooit, laten de eerste sprieten van de sneeuwklokjes zich ook weer zien!

A B(l)ooming New Year!
In 2008 I started to make a list of all the blooming plants in my garden on the first of January. That first list was the longest until now, with about 10 flowers.
In 2009 the list shrunk to only three flowering plants, and in 2010, only my Rosemary had some nearly whithered flowers.
But this year the list is not longer… The only shrub that gives a little bit of color (and fragrance) to a gray New Year’s day, is Viburnum bodnantense ‘Dawn’.
But nevertheless… the snow is thawing very quickly now, and the snowdrops show their first green sprigs!
